Spooky season is on the way and there are many fun activities to do to get into the Halloween mood, even if you don’t have a boo. Have a relaxing night this fall with these DIY skull bath bombs that will have your skin feeling silky smooth.

What you need:

  • Fredd EGG-A-MATIC Skull Egg Mold (Amazon $11.48)
  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • ½ cup Cornstarch
  • ½ cup Citric Acid
  • ¼ cup Epsom Salts
  • 2 tbs. Unrefined Coconut Oil (can substitute almond oil or fractioned coconut oil)
  • ¼ tsp. Vanilla Essential Oil (oleoresin)
  • ½ to 1 ½ tsp. Water (as needed)
  • Halloween Themed Glitter (optional)

Note: pick a low humidity day to make these bath bombs in order to avoid unwanted expansion from moisture in the air when they’re supposed to be drying.

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the baking soda, cornstarch, citric acid, and Epsom salts together in a bowl.
  2. Add the coconut oil and vanilla essential oil and mix thoroughly. Add the water sparingly while mixing to avoid a potential reaction with the mixture. Start with a small amount of water and add until the mixture slightly clumps.
  3. Scoop the mixture into each side of the egg mold and press down gently to ensure that the details will be clear. Overfill each side and press firmly together.
  4. Lift off the back half of the mold and gently remove the excess mixture.
  5. Flip the bath bomb over and remove the front of the mold.
  6. Let bath bombs dry for a few hours before storing in an airtight package.
  7. Drop into a warm bath and enjoy your spooky skull bath bombs!
