VCU Who?

To anyone that had VCU or Butler going to the Final Four on their NCAA Men’s College Basketball bracket…mad props to you. In fact, VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) has never been to the Final Four in school history.

The Virginia Commonwealth Rams beat the Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday to advance to the Final Four. They didn’t just beat the Jayhawks, they blew right ‘em.

Beating Florida State by one point during their Sweet Sixteen match was a blessing, but beating Kansas during their Elite Eight match by a large amount was an even bigger blessing.

The highest seed in the tournament is a #3 seed, Kentucky. Not one #1 seed exists. Poor Duke and Ohio State.

Who would’ve thought that the Final Four would’ve been UCONN, VCU, Butler, and Kentucky? Probably no one.

This NCAA Tournament is definitely one to remember. This is a perfect example that not everything that is bigger, is necessarily better and that the underdogs, major underdogs none the least, can surprise you.

“We made history here, winning five games, going to the Final Four, and as I said out there on the floor, we’re not done yet.” -VCU Coach, Shaka Smart
